For Supporting My Work

Artist Statement (excerpt)

At 13, I walked through life searching for home. I built it in other people for years. It took time to discover that home was always inside me—in my belly, in my center, in the place I’d exiled myself from because I didn’t understand my worth is inherent. Once I realized that God blessed me and formed me wonderfully in my mother’s womb, that I was made in His image, my life’s work became a map back to self-love and presence. God became my mirror.

This is the archetypal journey—from exile to return, from seeking external validation to building internal sovereignty. The dances we do with others are sacred: they show us our wounds and call us home to ourselves. This is the map I wish I’d had. This is the map I now create for my daughter, for the kids I teach, for anyone searching outside themselves for the home that was always within.

My M.A.P. (Multi-Aspect Mindfulness Meditation) workbook is for those walking through life, looking for their own home. It redirects them back to the voice within—and perhaps to the voice of God, who knows all and is the ultimate mirror.

My creative work—documentaries, poetry, visual art—reflects this ongoing journey of metamorphosis. It captures the seasons, the ebbs and flows, the full range of emotions that come with healing and self-discovery. My art and films are rooted in activism, social awareness, and emotional health, giving voice to the human journey of care, love, and resistance against oppressive systems.

I know and believe with my heart, ordinary human’s are extraordinary. – Rochelle White
